I am hunting for a DSLR of 10MP, and now I've zeroed on Canon rebel XTi and Nikon D80.
Among these two which would be cheaper in the long run, as I'll be adding new lens and filters?
Which has the highest 3rd party accessories?
Can CCD and CMOS makes the difference?

Of course, there is another option now, the Nikon D40x, which is a 10MP camera. Cheaper and lighter than the D80, the D40X is probably a closer match to the Rebel XTi/400D than the D80. The D80 is really the bets camera of the three and, given a choice of the other two, I would personally go for the D40x. One of the main reasons to pick the Nikon is that the Nikon kit lens (18-55mm) is better than the Canon equivalent. Whichever one you buy though will be a thoroughly good camera.
